Perfect pre-reading activity to develop comprehension strategies during fall!
This anticipation guide, based on the book "Owls" by Gail Gibbons, is a quick, easy way to activate prior knowledge and ignite curiosity about apples. By activating schema, students are able to reflect on and recall important information. It also allows them to critically think about important concepts that will be highlighted in the lesson. Anticipation guides set a purpose for reading as students have previewed the lesson topics before reading. Perhaps most importantly, anticipation guides can be used for all types of learners and modified to meet their individual needs. They can be used in the regular classroom, to aide in intervention or with special education students.
The text, "Owls" by Gail Gibbons, is not included in this resource.
