Description

Use these 40 task cards with your students to help them practice solving word problems that include PARALLEL LINES CUT BY A TRANSVERSAL.

What is Included:

This resource includes 40 task cards, a student answer sheet, and an answer key. Your students will love working with these task cards.

How to Use:

I place one task card on each of my students' desks and give them 2-3 minutes to complete the problem and record their answers on their answer sheet. Once the time is up I have my students "scoot" to the next desk to solve the new problem. The students LOVE doing this activity because it gets them moving. I highly recommend printing these task cards and answer key on card stock. Laminate them if possible so that they can be used for years. These task cards are perfect for reinforcing concepts through individual student practice, pair-share, early finishers, and assessment prep.

Topics included:

✔ Identifying Angle Pairs (Alternate Interior Angles, Alternate Exterior Angles, Same-Side Interior Angles, Same-Side Exterior Angles, Corresponding Angles, Vertical Angles)

✔ Finding the Missing Angle

✔ Solving an Equation

* This resource works well with my Digital PARALLEL LINES CUT BY A TRANSVERSAL Google Quiz for remote / distance learning.

Prove theorems about lines and angles.
Use informal arguments to establish facts about the angle sum and exterior angle of triangles, about the angles created when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, and the angle-angle criterion for similarity of triangles. For example, arrange three copies of the same triangle so that the sum of the three angles appears to form a line, and give an argument in terms of transversals why this is so.
