Students will peer edit narratives using a broken down version of the PARCC narrative writing rubric. The timed activity requires students to provide feedback on whether the paper is weak or strong in each area. Document can be edited for each class.
Sample of activity:
•Each student will have a peers paper in their hands.
•During the first timed period students will only be looking to see if the essay is on topic throughout. (Students will only be working on one section of the rubric at a time.) They should provide feedback on this section deciding whether the paper is weak or strong in this element.
•After the timer goes off students will rotate papers and the teacher will set the timer again.
•Students will then move to the next area of the rubric grading only one section of the paper at a time and providing feedback.
