Students will use the present tense cards in the game to form a gameboard. They can make it in any shape they like. They will place the past tense cards in a stack for help in case they need to consult a verb.
Each player will roll the dice, move their game piece and then draw a 'blue' card to find out if they will be forming a question, affirmative statement or negative statement. If the response is correct the player keeps the 'blue' card. Players can consult the past tense cards to help decide if a sentence is correct or incorrect. The player to finish the route with the most 'blue' cards wins!
Print each file on a different color of cardstock. They should be folded over to make the cards more solid. I use green for the verbs and dark blue for the sentence type.
I give the verb cards to each student to practise matching present and past forms throughout the school year. I make ten 'sentence type' cards to share in class. I store each set of 'sentence type' cards in a bag with dice.
