Rewarding middle school students can be a challenge. Since our school became more health conscious and Jolly Ranchers are no longer acceptable encouragement, I had to become more creative with rewards. So, I asked kids what they would like. Not surprisingly, they wanted more free time, freedom, and fun. I created these coupons which I distribute generously. The best part -- they don't cost me a dime!
This packet contains 12 different rewards. Each page has 6 rewards. That is a total of 72 rewards! Just Copy and Cut. I use different color paper for variety and fun. And, I store them in envelopes on my desk. Kids who do anything to impress me receive a reward - usually of their choice. Some examples of rewards are Food - Out! (eat in class), 10 Extra Points on a Quiz, Extend the Due Date, Do Half the Work on One Assignment, and other rewards suggested by kids and enjoyed by kids. I've never had a kid turn one down, or reject a reward because "I only like the green Jolly Ranchers." (You know that kid, too!).
