If you are wondering how to teach percentages to your students in a fun, real-world way, look no further! This week-long project will get your kids excited about using percentages. During this project, students work in groups to plan their own small business: a food truck! They discuss what it means to have a profitable business. Throughout this project they will use percentages to determine interest, mark ups, tax, and tips! Ideas for mini lessons are included in the lesson plan. They can even learn to write their own checks! The project finale is a mock festival you hold right in your classroom! Use this project to teach or review!
