Use these fitness station cards to get your students moving and make basic workouts seem manageable. Our school does not have a PE teacher, and we are on our own to create activities for our elementary classes. These can be used in short rotations as a warm-up activity or as a longer activity that also includes time for jogging and water breaks.
Each card includes basic directions for the exercise as well as a clip-art reference photo. The directions serve as a reminder for students of what they should do and do not give detailed information.
Cards can be hung in an area of the gym or room or attached to cones and spread out in an outdoor area. It is recommended that they be laminated for more durability.
Included stations are:
* Jumping Jacks
* Mountain Climbers
** NOTE: Each exercise should be explained to students and modeled before having them work in centers. It is important to show the correct (and incorrect) way for students to complete each exercise so that they are doing them correctly and safely.
