This pack contains twelve posters for use in the PE class. It shows cartoon images of children engaged in twelve different forms of physical activity eg. hopping, squats, running on the spot, touching toes, jumping jacks, trunk twists etc.
It is suggested that all of the posters in the pack are laminated, as well as the small numbers on the final three pages of the pack. Cut up the small numbers – attach Velcro to the rear of the small numbers as well as to the blank boxes on the posters (alternatively just use blu-tack). Place a number in the blank box on each poster – this lets the pupil know how many repetitions of this exercise they have to do.
Before commencing these PE Stations, it is advisable that pupils are taught how to do each of these exercises as a class so that they are comfortable and understand what to do. Display the posters around your PE space and divide up your pupils beside each poster. They perform the exercise at their Station for the required number of repetitions.
When each group has done the exercise at their Station, all groups rotate to the next Station. Teachers might decide to use only eight stations in the pack, thus allowing them to choose four new stations at the following lesson. The lessons can also be varied by raising the number of repetitions for each exercise.
