Sushi may seem daunting, but in fact was the most successful cooking lesson I ever did with my non verbal Autistic students. Not only did they love the sensory aspect of using their hands to spread the rice, but also loved the taste. They enjoyed trying new food! Also, upon completion of the meal we discussed how each food group was present and why the meal was a healthy choice! The students felt so proud of themselves with their finished California Roll Sushi product and it was DELICIOUS!!!
