BRIEF OVERVIEW OF LESSON DELIVERY
I start the unit by having a discussion on what Persuasive Writing is using the posters as a visual stimuli. Each lesson is then introduced one session at a time so as not to overload students with too much content information. There is also ample practice on the writing skill in focus in the organizers and lesson layout. I have students color code and deconstruct (cut and glue ) the sample text as each section of the persuasive structure is covered. Editing and revising take place when students are writing out their brainstormed ideas on the given organizers. Self and peer editing checklists are used after students have written out the essay as a cohesive whole on the given writing templates. Students will eventually write out a clean copy for teacher grading once editing, revising and conferencing has taken place.
