I assumed that my physics students had learned the phase change graph when they took chemistry. But I was wrong. Most of them had not and if they did, they did not remember a thing. So, I made this worksheet to bring them all up to speed.
This nice graphic organizer can be used either as an intro to phase changes or as a follow up to a lecture. It will have them identifying areas of the phase change graph, including energy states and determining where Q=mL and Q=mcT are used.
They will love this worksheet and so will you. There will be no more confusion about where melting or boiling occur, or which phase has the most kinetic energy!
