HOW CAN THEY READ IF THEY CANNOT DECODE?
The Sounds of Consonants is an addendum to Learning the Consonant Sounds -booklets 1 and 2, letter people folk lore from the Community of Consonants. It is part of the Phonics Intervention Series made up of fun and easy ways to remember all those phonics rules. Students remember facts infused within stories better than just facts; cartoon drawings help to keep those facts in long-term memory. Charts, posters and foldables summarize these bits of information for frequent review. With practice especially if the Reading Helper Stories are used - voila, the student can decode.
