You’ve heard of mental math. How about physical math to wake up those your elementary students? Throwing the body into any learning process allows the brain to acquire knowledge in a new way. Besides, it’s fun!
These easy lesson plans are designed to reinforce new or old skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, computation, and concepts. In addition, they offer themselves up as ice-breakers—a good way to foster team work and confidence. They can be used as enrichment or part of the warm-up process on “regular” math days. With the exception of Activity 1, The Human Geometry Puzzle, they can all be adapted to any level or category of math and can be fueled by concepts and existing math problem available in your textbook.
Includes diagrams, procedures, vocabulary. Used along with my Math Treasure Hunt Units, you have the whole year covered!
