This resource was created to help you and your students discern high quality children’s literature from the simple and mundane. Post in your classroom library, distribute to parents, or use as a tool to help encourage complex book selections among your students. These selection guidelines will hopefully help steer your students in the direction of rich language, complex themes, and sophisticated illustrations!

This resource is Common Core Aligned for grades K-5; however, it can be easily used with older students as we know that illustrated texts are just as valuable for them!
