Pictures are a great way for students to create inferences and build strong writing pieces. By using real life pictures, students are able to connect with their own experiences and improve their writing.
This activity can be used as a daily writing drill or during daily journal writing time. All you need to do is display the "image of the day" on your overhead and let the writing begin!
There are several ways you can use this activity:
* Students can use the images to create their own narrative writing piece
* Students can use the images to create expository writing
* Students can create captions or theme statements for each image
This is a great way to incorporate writing in your classroom!
IMPORTANT: The pictures located in this activity are the same pictures found in my "Narrative Writing Prompts" activity. However, this activity does NOT contain the writing prompts; this activity only contains pictures. If you would like a writing prompt to go along with EACH picture, please visit my store and find the activity titled, "Narrative Writing Prompts".
