Engaging practice with tens and ones to foster mastering concept of place value.
To play PLACE VALUE PICK UP STICKS students toss a handful of sticks and take turns making and recording two, three ,or four (or more) digit numbers.
Taking turns students record the numbers they make. When students read and write their number correctly they get to keep the sticks. If a mistake is made sticks go back in the original pile. The student with the most sticks at the end of the game is the winner.
