This Plot Twist! assignment asks the students to envision a new ending for Julius Caesar after a key moment in the story. The key moment is given to the students and they are provided space to brainstorm some ideas on how the story might turn out differently.
After coming up with some ideas, the students write a two-page alternate version of the rest of the novel based on evidence they cull from what they have read. This allows students to engage the novel both creatively and critically, forcing them to support their ideas with concrete support.
