This is similar to my other POP games, but give students practice with chunks, blends, and digraphs.
My students love this game and always ask to play it. Simply laminate the cards, cut them them apart, and put them in a container (I use a metal pail). Have a student take a card from the container. They must read the card, if they read it correctly, they get to keep the card and go again by drawing another card. If they do not read the card correctly, they must put the card back and it is the next player's turn. If a student draws a "POP!" card then they must put ALL their cards back in the container. The player with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner.
This game really keeps the students’ attention and it a great resource to help them practice tricky chunks, blends, and digraphs that come up in reading frequently!
