This is similar to my other "POP" games except that it uses letters and sounds instead of words. The game can be played to teach and practice letter naming, sounds, or both. I have also included some cards with chucks on them so that students can practice those sounds as well if you are currently teaching chunks or letter combinations.
Put cards in a container, (I use a metal pail). Have students go around in a circle and take turns drawing cards out of the bucket. If they can tell you the letter or sound then they get to pick another card. If they say the letter or sound incorrectly then they have to put it back and it is the next person's turn. However, if the student gets a "POP" card then he/she has to put ALL their cards back.
The kids love playing this game!
