This is the BUNDLE for ALL 4 SETS of POPPERS: A Daily Writing Review
These sets review the revising/editing and spelling rules that 4th graders should know.
Sets 1-3 have new skills to practice each week. Each day of the week gets progressively more difficult.
Monday: Exploration Day: Students explore the meanings of new vocabulary and rules.
Tuesday: Picture Day: Students draw pictures of new words and practice skills.
Wednesday: Creation Day: Students create sentences with new words.
Thursday: Rule-Breaking Day: Students purposely write these new words and rules incorrectly and switch with a partner to correct.
Friday: Journal Day: Students use their knowledge of skills and concepts from the week in a journal entry.
Set 4 is geared toward test prep. Monday through Thursday students will correct sentences in a short passage. Each sentence has only one error. There are no answers for students to choose from, so this increases the RIGOR and allows students to stretch beyond they typical multiple choice drudgery.
These can be used as a warm-up or in small groups.
