I created this as a Father's Day project for my children's church group. They are decorating individual 3-D popcorn shaped containers with "POP" on the sides. I put 6 father/child related scriptures on popcorn shaped cut-outs to include inside.
I expanded it a bit for use outside of a church/home school/Father's Day setting.
There are 7 pages in this download. Two pages contain a flat popcorn container and popcorn kernels that can be colored and cut out and pasted onto some construction paper. One says "POP", one says "POPCORN" Two pages are blank popcorn kernels, in various sizes. One page contains 2 sets of the 6 popcorn kernels with scripture that I used. And two pages are the 3D pocorn containers - one with the word "POP" on all sides and one with "POPCORN" on all sides.
For the 3D objects, just fold in on all the black lines after it is cut out. You just have to glue/tape the bottom and one side with the white flap inside.
Can be use for various things - Have the students write down the "kernels of knowledge" they've learned as an end of the year or unit activity. Follow up a movie by using kernels for the characters, plot, etc. Put spelling words or high frequency words on different kernels. Allow partners to pull out a word, then say/write/act/spell the word. Come up with your own activity.
As with pretty much all of my products, the items are in black and white. I am big on saving color ink as well as letting the kids show their own imagination by coloring in their own.
