Description

POSTER PROJECT | POSTER PROJECT ANY NOVEL | POSTER ACTIVITY

PRINT OR DIGITAL

Are you looking for an exciting project to wrap-up your book study?

Students will love designing their own posters for this end-of-the-book final project.

POSTER PROJECT is PERFECT for an engaging and creative, culminating activity!

Poster Project engages students in the top three levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy: analyze, evaluate, and create.

This project requires students to think about imagery and symbolism that are present in the novel. Students recall themes or literary elements and what images will convey those ideas. Images from a book or movie poster are not allowed. Furthermore, they must explain how these images relate to the novel, use direct quotations, and cite with page numbers. When I do this project I sometimes compare the novel with a small excerpt of philosophy.

This product is great to use for distance learning.

I now have my students turn their posters in on Google Classroom instead of printing them!!!

An added bonus is these assignments are a great alternative to essays!!

In order for your students to excel in this activity, they need to see examples and understand how they will be graded.

FICTION EDITION rubric, student examples, instructions, tips, and more.

INCLUDED HERE:

⚫Two rubrics explain to students what is expected in their finished product. There are two versions - one with philosophy and one without.

⚫THE RUBRIC IS INCLUDED IN THE MAIN PDF FILE BUT ALSO IN THE GOOGLE FILE (THIS FILE IS EDITABLE) SO YOU MAY ADAPT IT TO YOUR CLASSES!

⚫Instructions that I give my own students - also in an editable format - this is the template that I use on Google Classroom.  There is a link on page 40 - open the link, edit, and download the instructions as a PDF if you are not posting the assignment online.

⚫Instructions for teachers.

EVERY YEAR THIS PROJECT GETS MORE DETAILED AND THE POSTERS IMPROVE! STUDENT EXAMPLES ARE THE KEY TO THIS SUCCESS!

⚫NEW POSTERS ARE INCLUDED!! These new posters are amazing!

⚫I use student examples from previous semesters to help my class understand my expectations.

⚫23 BEAUTIFUL POSTERS from first and second year university students.

⚫Excellent examples of citation pages and the explanation of images.

⚫Examples from different sites where students may create their posters.

⚫Tips for students and teachers.

⚫There is a photo on page five of some of these poster creations.  The University where I lecture created a display of my students’ work!!

⚫Please note that I encourage my students to use images in the public domain, but they do use images that have copyright attached. This project also goes well with a lesson on copyright - especially digital copyright. The posters I have included may only be shown in your classroom. The poster that I have on the cover uses images that have copyright attached, but I have paid to use these images. The images used in the other posters may have copyright attached too. Please do not copy any part of this product and place it on the Internet in any form (even a personal/classroom website).
