This PowerPoint version of Comic 180: Early America, 6.12 (Hard Times of the American Revolution) is a history lesson about difficult situations in the American Revolution in comic book style. It covers the problems including winter at Valley Forge, civil war in the South, the loss of great southern cities and men & the Waxhaw Massacre.
The presentation includes a 10 question assessment with a word bank. Answers will pop up with a click!
Copies can be made of the assessment slide if you prefer, but you could use it for a go green paperless lesson with discussion. Or have them write the brief constructed responses. You could even go the easy route and simply have your students write down the letters or answers from the word bank as an assessment.
Great for differentiated instruction and anchor activities, the comic brings black and white U.S. History into vividly colored reality. Middle school and high school students will love this break from the traditional textbook and yearn for more.
