Module 3 - Lesson 12 - Multiplication Word Problems
My school is currently using EngageNY Curriculum but I am having trouble getting through all the lessons as my students have a WIDE variety of abilities.
This PowerPoint lesson goes through the entirety of the Concept Development section with areas for Differentiation. Under each slide there are notes on how to use and differentiate students by understanding with the first two slides. Students complete the fluency practice and write their answers down. You record and group students into Beginning, Developing, Proficient, and Distinguished. Groups are then tasked with problem sets to solve and the Teacher can focus on students who need more modeling.
The PowerPoint includes all lesson areas from Eureka Math such as I Can statement, Fluency, Problem Sets, Debriefs, and the Exit Ticket. They include snippets of tape diagrams, explanations, and solutions straight from the Engage NY Lesson Plan.
When I first began teaching, I never finished a complete lesson and students who were Distinguished felt bored while students who were just Beginning to understand the concept were totally lost. My objective was to create quick PPTs that helped meet students at their level and have them collaborate. Now my students are actually enjoying math! I hope you enjoy this resource as much as I do.
