PREVIEW: Vocabulary "Collecting" Resources for Differentiated Vocab Instruction

Product Description
This is a free preview that contains three of the ELEVEN VOCABULARY & WRITING LESSONS we sell here at TPT.

One of our regular classroom routines involves having students "collect" four words at a time from what they're reading and "publish" them on certain assigned days.

We have ten different writing activities we slowly teach our students to use. When assigned, our students bring in new words they've added to their collections by writing about them (using one of the ten writing activities), and they teach their words to each other. Vocabulary "publishing" day is one of the most active and enjoyable days in our classrooms.

We sell all ten of our vocabulary/writing lessons from thisTEACHERS PAY TEACHERS LINK, but here we offer you three of the eleven PowerPoint lessons so that you can see the depth of thought behind each lesson we have created. We were completely focused on the Common Core's expectations of rigor when we created these ten lessons, and we are very proud of how the ten lessons truly teach each technique using 1) challenging mentor texts, 2) student samples, 3) rubrics, and 4) teacher models.

Also in this free preview folder you will find two versions of the vocabulary bookmarks our students use when they collect words from their books, and you will find a computer-version of the collecting template many of my students use to publish their words.

If you'd like to see my students' amazing vocabulary collections, I invite you to check out VOCABULARY COLLECTORS PINTEREST BOARD where we celebrate our students' amazing writing and vocabulary work.

I also direct you to the VOCABULARY RESOURCE PAGE at our website where we share other vocabulary-inspired work Dena and I are working on.

Feel free to email me (corbett@corbettharrison.com) with any questions about the full product we provide teachers.
