This pseudonym lesson starts with an introduction suggestion for teachers and continues with a one page informational reading. The reading explains the terms pseudonym and pen name, and gives examples for Mark Twain, Saki, and J.K. Rowling.
The lesson continues with a one page listing of ten novel titles from a time span of several hundred years - from well-known authors! Students are asked to fill in the missing information by using the internet. Answer key is included.
They are also asked to create their own pen name.
This is followed by templates - one page each - of both a poem and a short-short story. Students choose which to use, and fill-in-the-blanks, creating their own piece of literature. They sign with their pseudonym.
