This packet is designed to practice the sight words: can, come, on, look, little, for, find, I, it, is, in, to, the, how, help and up. Directions are given for 2 games: Sight Word Matching and BAM!
The cards are created on pumpkins with the Fall theme in mind.
Game one: Students place the cards face down and take turns matching the sight words. To keep the card, the student must be able to identify the word. If the word is correctly named, the student may keep the match. If the cards are incorrectly named, the student must place the cards back in their postion. If the BAM! card is selected, the student must put a pair of their matches back on the table. To win the game, you must have the most pairs.
Game 2: BAM!
Place the cards in a container. Students take turns drawing a card and reading it. If the card is read correctly, the student may keep the card, for an incorrect read, place the card back in the container.If the BAM! card is drawn,the student must place all of his/her cards back into the container. The student with the most cards is the winner. Differentiation ideas are also included in this packet.
