Riddle 1 - Given two sides of a right triangle, students will find the missing side. In doing so, they will discover the answer to the riddle. There are nine triangles to solve.
Riddle 2 - Given two sides of a right triangle, students will find the missing side. In doing so, they will discover the answer to the riddle. There are twelve triangles to solve.
Using the Pythagorean Theorem. Students will use the Pythagorean theorem to find the answers in four different story problems.
SLED EX - Given a map of a neighborhood (with houses at perpendicular ‘roads,’ students will answer the questions to find the asked for distances. They will have to use the Pythagorean relationship for some questions and mathematical logic for others.
String of Lights MAZE - There are two versions of the same maze; one version uses decimal answers (rounded to the nearest tenths) and one version with radicals. Students are given two points and asked to find the distance between the points. They can use the distance formula or they can graph the points and use the Pythagorean formula to find the distances.
Caroling Mouse - A COLORING ACTIVITY - Students are given 5 sets of values that are part of right triangles. They must find the third side and use the stated color to correctly color the numbered space with their answer.
