A hypothesis activity where students learn about the different climates and resources various Southwestern tribes had, and how their lifestyle adapted to use them.
Tribes included are:
- Chumash
- Pomp
- Miwok
- Nez Perce' (Niimi'ipuu)
- Chinook
Students use a map, picture, and paragraph to create a hypothesis about how Native Americans may have lived for each tribe. They also receive a sheet with a paragraph and pictures showing how the tribe used their resources for clothing, shelter and food to test their hypothesis. There is also a record sheet included to bring it all together.
