This study guide has been created as a companion for the Caldecott Honor book, Paddle-to-the-Sea, written by Holling Clancy Holling.

~"Journey Tracker" map activity in which students will follow Paddle all the way to the sea as they track his progress on a blank map
~"Legends of the Lakes" activity in which students will have the opportunity to create a legend for each of the Great Lakes as it pertains to the outline, or shape, of the lake. For example: Lake Superior is in the shape of a wolf's head--students could create a legend about a wolf near the lake.
