This is a really fun painting project for high school students where they learn about CUBISM and apply it to a painting of their own.
It goes through;
-asking students to do a research sketchbook page on Cubism, with some prompts on what to include
-bringing in a small object from home to use as their inspiration
(they need the actual object so they can look at it from all angles)
-thumbnail planning
-creating a final painting inspired by cubism
-a rubric to make marking easy for you
This can be done in acrylics, watercolours, whatever fits your painting unit.
They turn out awesome! Most students will bring in toys, which makes for some really exciting final artworks.
Enjoy!
