As a first grade teacher I do my best to help prepare my students for the future and testing. One of the words that comes up a lot on tests is passage. To help my students understand what a passage is, I have created this packet called Paired Passages.

In my room we spent one week focusing on what a passage was and including the word passage as a vocabulary word. From then on, we complete a paired passage each week to review and work on different comprehension strategies. This is a great quick check for understanding as well.

In 1st grade I read them aloud but if used in 2nd grade, the students could complete independently.
