Included in this pack is one set of paired passages. A literary passage is paired with an informational passage. Four different levels of each passage are included (end 1st, beginning 2nd, Mid 2nd, End 2nd). The passages look identical, and all activities can be used with each passage. All activities are perfect for interactive notebooks and include directions for how to cut out and assemble flip flap books.
For each passage there is a flip flap book with questions for students to answer from the story. There is also a flip flap book for students to create their own questions about the story and then answer the questions. In addition to the question flip flap books, another flip flap book with a reading skill is also included. Finally, for each passage, there is a constructed response for students to write and respond about the story.
The literary passage in this pack is about bullying and playing fair on the playground. The matching, paired text is an informational how-to passage explaining how to play the game Freeze Tag.
The additional skill for the literary passage is about the character's response to major events and character change. The additional skill for the informational passage is cause and effect.
