This is a worksheet and a set of five readings that helps students learn about early hominid and human technology. Students can complete the worksheet on their own, but I structured this as a stations activity where students rotated in groups between five stations, each with one of the attached readings. The technology addressed includes the chopping tool, hand axe, needle, spear point, and the "Lion Man," a half man half lion figurine that ancient humans carved. The graphic organizer has students address three questions: 1. What was the invention used for? 2. Why was it important? 3. Anything else they found interesting.
