This is a sample of my upcoming book, Pancho y las momias. I hope you enjoy it!
After the death of this mother, Pancho and his father move to Guanajuato. Pancho is feeling down and lonely when he meets another boy his age who offers to show him around. When his new friend convinces him to sneak into the Guanajuato Mummy Museum at night, what happens there surprises both of them and leads them on an adventure around the city!
In writing the book I tried to present most new vocabulary in Chapters 1 and 2, and in subsequent chapters that vocab is recycled. The book is written for late beginner/early intermediate Spanish students ages 12+. There are two versions, one written in primarily in present tense and one written in past tense. In the complete copy of the story, each version has about 2,800 words and about 430 unique words plus cognates.
Approximately 92% of non-cognate words in the complete book are in the 1,000 most frequent words in Spanish, and approximately 4% percent are in the second 1,000 most frequent words.

I welcome your feedback and please alert me to Spanish mistakes or typos.
