Pangaea: Looking into the Past, The Movement of the Continents

Supporting document included
This is an additional download that supports the video.
My husband (a professional scientific and medical illustrator) and I, created this movie when I was trying to get the students to understand the concept of Pangaea. I could point to the map and show how the continents might have fit together, but I wanted something that labeled and animated the current continents showing their movement as they went back in time, in other words, a movie that animated the movement of the current contents going back in time linked to a timeline showing the accurate time in the history of the Earth that the movement occurred, until the pieces of land accurately fit the theory of Pangaea. That's what this movie does. Starting with the present day continents, differentiating them by color, adding the labels, and then showing the movement of the continents as we go back in time with the timeline, makes this concept clear and easy to understand for students, and this movie unique.
Included in the product is a downloadable student hand-out activity accurate to the theory of Pangaea and consistent with the movie animation that allows students to color, label, cut-out and fit the land masses together. A colored and labeled answer sheet is also provided with this product.
Use for both Social Studies (the land-bridge concept) and Earth Science.
Note that this product is in movie format (mov) and will play in full when purchased.
