This is a fun hands-on activity that will give students real world practice and understanding of informational text and their structures. Students will work with a partner to produce a paper airplane using 4 different sets of instructions. The instructions include Words Only, Pictures Only, Words and Pictures, and a Video. They will work through each set of directions and determine which format works best to get their desired results. At the end of the activity, students will get to test any successful airplanes they created. This activity is one of my very favorites - as it creates great discussion using real world learning and my students are fully engaged.
