This project invites students to investigate how materials and size affect the flight distance of a paper airplane.
This project could also be considered an Inquiry Lab as it does not provide a step by step procedure for how to complete the investigation. Students should receive some teacher guidance on how to determine which factors to test and which to leave as constants. For example, instructions tell the students to use only one paper airplane design as a constant variable.
Prelab questions guide the students to prepare for creating a lab report poster. The poster will include Problem, Hypothesis, Materials, Procedure, Results (data table & graph) and Conclusion. The poster will demonstrate the students' understanding of the Scientific Method and applies their knowledge to an inquiry investigation!
When this project is purchased, an editable rubric will also be provided.
