Product Description
Students will complete a paper bag book report on a book of their choice! The book that students choose for this report must be on their current Accelerated Reading Level. Chapter books are preferred. You may use a brown paper grocery bag or a paper gift bag with handles to complete this project.

On the front of the bag create a new cover for your novel! Choose your favorite scene from the story and draw it on a separate piece of paper. Attach the paper to the front of your bag. Be sure to include the title, author and illustrator of the book on your cover.

On the back attach a summary of your book. Be sure that you include the beginning, middle and end of the story. This needs to me a minimum of twelve sentences (four sentences for each part of the story).

On one side of your bag include the main characters and the setting. Write a minimum of one sentence describing each main character. Write at least three sentences describing the setting, time and place of the story.

On the other side of the bag include the conflict and solution. If the story has more than conflict and solution include only your favorite. The conflict and solution part of your project needs to be a minimum of six sentences total.

Inside the bag include three small items that represent the setting, plot or characters of your book. Explain their meaning on a separate sheet of paper and put the sheet inside of your bag along with the three items you chose.

On the bottom of your bag attach your book recommendation. Be sure to shade in the amount of stars you would give the book and write whether or not you would recommend your book to a friend. This needs to be a minimum of three sentences.

Neatness/ turned in on time

Oral Presentation: Students will present this project during class. Students will need to read everything written on the bag and explain their three items that they included inside of the bag. This will be a separate grade in the grade book under “Speaking and Listening”.
