Ever think to yourself that my students can’t do another traditional book report? Here is a fun way for them to show case their knowledge of character and characterization. Students will be expected to select one character from a book they have read and analyze who that character is.
How to use this project:
o Prior to completing this project, make sure you have gone over character traits, characterization, internal and external characteristics and how characters change over time.
o Select a due date, put on student information sheet.
o Hand out student information page, graphic organizer, checklist and rubric to students explaining each one.
o I would also post project on your website, classroom wall and put it in your newsletter.
o Next, go over each part with the students carefully explaining what is expected of them, how much time they will have to complete the project and the grading guidelines.
This unit includes:
o Student information page explaining the project.
o Student graphic organizer for students to plan their project.
o Student checklist to complete to make sure they have included all the project parts.
o A project rubric for students to use as a guide when they do the project as well as used for the grading system.
o A student self-evaluation sheet. It’s critical for students to see themselves as learners and evaluate their own learning.
I have other projects too, make sure to check out my store!
