This is a tactile approach to learning about 2-dimensional polygonal shapes. Children will be asked to pass around a paper bag that contains different 2 dimensional polygons. They will have a chance to feel all the objects without looking in the bag to get an idea of what is in the bag. Then they will each take turns feeling one shape and making an educated guess as to the name of the polygon including a reason for why they believe it is that shape. This can be used to learn simple shapes (squares, rectangles), more complex shapes (octagons, dodecagons) or even 3 dimensional shapes (cubes, pyramids).
