Most third grade students are still VERY tactile and egocentric. They need to directly touch and experience things to make important insights and notice details. This project helps to fill those developmental needs while also meeting standards in English Language Arts (Writing, Reading, Vocabulary, Critical Thinking), Science and Social Studies (Ecology, Resources, Recycling), Math (Measurement), and Fine Arts. It can be expanded to include research on the history of paper and writing. It can also be easily differentiated for a wide spectrum of skill levels. Some students just need a set of instructions. Others benefit from a word bank to get them writing on their own. Others needs more structure with sentence stems that get them started. These pieces are all included here.
