"Mr. Cummins, I lost my ruler."
Well, let's find it...
"Not so fast, before I lost it I broke it in half."
Uhhh...maybe I can loan you a...
"Could you make it fast? I want to make disruptive noises with it or spin it around on my pencil like a helicopter."
I think I have just the thing for you.
Students lose or break rulers. They also fiddle with them sometimes to the point of creating a distraction. In a pinch, these paper rulers are handy to have around. They are perfectly good for basic measurement in inches and down to 1/8" increments. A little less convenient than a wooden or plastic ruler to use as a straightedge but that may be a benefit to encourage students to bring supplies or treat provided supplies with more respect. Contains 8.5x11, 8.5x14, and 11x17 sizes.
