Are you ready to go paperless with your Paragraph of the Week? My kids are so glad we did!
Here is the Google Slide version of my Paragraph of the Week Persuasive. Same great concept, same great prompts - just digital! (Microsoft OneDrive instructions also included!)
The revisions include...
landscape formatting for better viewing on tablets and iPads
color coordinated text throughout
text boxes for typing
35 Persuasive prompts
Blank Editable set
This structured, consistent approach allows students to focus on their writing skills and not the directions. Each week has the same format with a new topic.
It is a 4 day format.
Day 1 is gathering their thoughts and ideas. Then, they select the 3 favorite ideas to include in the paragraph.
Day 2 includes developing the ideas into sentences. They also add a supporting detail (or 2) for each important idea sentence.
Day 3 is for writing the introduction and conclusion sentences. Students also reread the day 2 sentences to revise for word choice and grammar.
Day 4 allows the student to type the final draft and check for convention errors.
All 39 topics are personal so your students are automatic experts on the content. There is no research to be done to complete these paragraphs. All the content comes from their personal experiences and thoughts. There are no wrong answers here.
