I believe in having large diagrams that students can write all over in geometry class. I think it holds some students back to have them re-draw/copy a small textbook diagram into their notes. They can accidentally miss details and then end up with an unsolvable problem! Also, I have taught students with vision difficulties and they really have a hard time small textbook diagrams or small diagrams crammed onto a worksheet. This is why all my math teacher resources have large diagrams. And this is no exception!
There are 4 student pages included, plus 4 teacher key pages!
On each page is a diagram inspired by a famous section of a city: NYC, Hong Kong, Washington DC, and San Francisco. Some diagrams require students to fill in every angle in the diagram. Some require students to answer specific questions and explain their answers.
The focus of these pages is to get students to use their parallel line theorem logic to fill out the diagram. A few of the questions ask for student explanations where students can refer to their theorems.
These work well as challenges for early finishers, students who need more practice reading more complex diagrams, or just for plain old fun! Some of the same old parallel lines and transversal problems can get really boring. These work great as puzzles student groups can try to solve together or individual high achievers. Each student does need their own copy of the diagram though, so they can write all over it.
