Product Description

This bundle contains notes, 11 activities and practice test that cover the following topics: parallel lines, transversals, and slope. Online Socrative test to come!

Activities included (see below for more detailed description of activities):

-Task Cards: Parallel Lines and Transversals

-Match Cards: Lines and Angles

-Slope Stained Glass: Parallel and Perpendicular lines through points

-2 MathDoku Puzzles: Parallel Lines Angle Measures, Angle Pairs

-Find the Bingo: Slope Between Two Points

-Picture Perfect: Parallel, Perpendicular or Neither

-Parallel Puzzle: Parallel Lines and Transversals

-Tic Tac Math: Parallel Lines and Transversals

-Practice Worksheets: Finding Points on Parallel and Perpendicular Lines

Notes: Each note set has My Turn, Your Turn, and Our Turn problems. I show students the My Turn problem (they copy), I have them mirror my process with their Your Turn problem, then the Our Turn we do together (the problem is typically harder than the others).

Math-Doku: Math-Doku worksheets incorporate math concepts and Sudoku! Problems increase in difficulty. Students must solve each multiple choice problem. They then place their numerical choice in the corresponding shaded letter box in the Sudoku puzzle on the back of the sheet. Once they have filled in all of the shaded boxes, they can fill out the remaining Sudoku puzzle.

Slope Stained Glass: This activity tests students’ knowledge of slope and parallel/perpendicular lines and their relationships with slope. Students follow drawing directions to create a stained glass piece, then, use a color code to create a unique design. If done correctly, each stained glass will look exactly like the given key.

Concepts covered in this activity are:

-Graphing a line with a given slope through a specified point

-Graphing a line parallel to a specified line through a specified point

-Graphing a line perpendicular to specified line through a specified point

Tic Tac Math: This activity is based off the game of Tic Tac Toe. However, in order to put an X or O on the grid, you must first CORRECTLY answer a math problem. There are 2 Tic Tac Toe games included in this document, each with two parallel lines cut by two transversals. Each game concentrates on finding special angle pairs (alternate interior, corresponding, etc.). No computations are made in either game.

Game 1:Parallel lines are horizontal

Game 2: Parallel lines are vertical for increased difficulty

Find the Bingo: Choose any problem to begin and solve. Find the answer in the bingo box to the left and X it out. Keep working problems, in ANY ORDER, until you have 5 X’s in a row vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. FIND THE BINGO and you are done!

Picture Perfect: Solve each of the problems on the worksheet. Each correct answer will reveal an item to add to the beach picture given on the page.

Parallel Puzzle:2 worksheets that increase in difficulty. Parallel Puzzle 1 has 22 missing angles to find. Parallel Puzzle 2 has 7 variables and 13 missing angles to find.

Answer key included for all!
