Students must first have an understanding of slopes for parallel and perpendicular lines and be able to solve any given equation into slope-intercept form (y = mx + b). This activity gives the students 6 equations in slope-intercept form. They must find the matching parallel and perpendicular equations, cut them out and paste them in the appropriate column. Be careful for students who may think that the "cut & paste" equations are supposed to look exactly like the given equations. This was an excellent reinforcement activity after reviewing this concept with my geometry students. A key is provided!
