This lab will help your class to thoroughly understand parametric equations. You have many options on how to do this:
1. Give students made-up numbers to use as data.
2. Use a video (coming in April) of a student hitting a ball, and use the data from her hit.
3. Take your class outside with a bat, ball, tee, and smartphone/tablet and have yourself or some of your students hit balls in order to get some real data.
Followed the detailed instructions to obtain the initial speed of the ball, angle of the hit, and initial height of the ball. Give this information to the students, along with the activity pages, and watch them work in small groups to answer thought-provoking questions that help them to fully comprehend how parametric equations are used in a real-world situation.
