Product Description
This is an activity that I use in my AP English Literature class as I am working my way through teaching the TPCASTT poetry analysis tool. It's a simple exercise that provides students practice putting classic poetry into their own words -- a vital, foundational aspect of analyzing poetry. My chosen excerpts from Milton's Paradise Lost focus on the philosophical concept of free will, which the students briefly reflect on at the end of the exercise.

While you're here though, I think it would be worth your while to check out my full "Poetry and Philosophy" unit plan!
