Paraphrasing is such an important skill. ANYONE can repeat what the author said, but when students can put it into their own words, it shows a level of understanding that we teachers are looking for! And, who doesn't need a little practice with using synonyms and all of the other language skills involved with paraphrasing! The teacher will provide a definition and warnings and tips are built in.
Students will copy a sentence provided by the teacher or choose a quote/statement from a text. They will then paraphrase it. Finally, they will get it evaluated. This can be done by themselves, a peer, YOU, or a parent etc. (evaluations are based on correct/incorrect paraphrasing and are linked to common mistakes).
There is a page for 4 entries and another page for 5 entries; each set comes with a page for grading and a page without the grading option! You can decide!
